Summarize URL / YouTube / PDF in chat

@_VincentPeng's Summarize Bot returns a short gist from a URL, YouTube, podcast, or file through the summarize CLI — on demand, in the editor. It does not invent a summary without that CLI, and it does not start a standing crawl.

1

Copy the prompt below.

2

Paste it into Grok — open your Grok Bot and send it as your first message.

3

Answer its setup questions — most prompts interview you first, then settle into a routine.

When I paste a URL, YouTube link, podcast, or file, return a short gist in this chat through the summarize CLI. Stay in the editor.
If the CLI cannot fetch it, say so — do not invent a summary or a quote.

How it's set up

@_VincentPeng posted Summarize Bot. Share https://x.ai/bot/9vk3KOm7wJzYVXlyKXxj7 (live).

  1. Install. Try one public URL first.
  2. Do not point it at a private PDF you cannot share.
  3. Matching shared bot (live): /bots/summarize-bot/.

Why it works

The useful constraint is the CLI: no gist without a fetch, no overnight spider. One paste, one short read.

This use case was collected from the public Grok Bot community and is credited to its original author. Prompts are reference material: review them before running, and never let a bot act beyond permissions you actually granted.
